The problem
A label order is quoted per thousand pieces but consumed in metres of ribbon across the ends of a loom, and most factories carry that arithmetic in one person's head. Jobs get released against artwork the customer never signed off. When a buyer asks for the GRS or FSC reconciliation, the answer is a week of spreadsheets, and the stock count is only true on the day it is taken.
What Trimflow does about it
Trimflow is an ERP for factories that make what goes into a garment: woven labels, flexo, screen and heat-transfer printed labels, offset hang tags and tickets, thermal barcode labels. A garment ERP is organised around sewing lines and SMV. This factory is organised around machines and process routings — a loom, a flexo press, a screen table, an offset press — so Trimflow is built around a job card bound to a routing, not a line plan.
It covers the whole lifecycle in one system: inquiry, quotation with a live cost sheet priced per thousand pieces, artwork versions, sales order, BOM and MRP, purchasing and GRN with landed cost, planning board, job cards, a shop-floor scanner terminal that keeps working offline, AQL inspection and lab tests, packing, delivery challan, own-fleet trips and invoicing. Every cone, roll, ink tin, plate and carton carries a barcode and a lot number, so any finished carton traces back to its inputs and forward to its customer.
Two failures cause most production defects in this industry, and the system makes both structurally impossible. Nothing can be released to production against an unapproved artwork — the database refuses, not just the screen. And GRS or FSC certified input is tracked from receipt to output, diluted by consumption, so the reconciliation an auditor asks for is a report, not a week of spreadsheets.
